Abstract

The writer who is a woman has an interest in the issue of Sexual Freedom in which for society, woman's sexual life is very limited and is considered as a taboo thing. The writer analyzed more the issue of Sexual Freedom using Third Wave Feminism through Russell Champbell's theory of various prostitution in the movie. The writer examines the characteristics and traits of Lucy in the Sleeping Beauty movie, which tells about the life of Lucy, a student who chose to work as a prostitute. This research is done by watching, taking screenshot of the scenes, and transcribing the dialogue in the movie to get a further analysis of Lucy. The writer finds that Lucy's choice of being a prostitute is Lucy's way of expressing her sexual life and sexual freedom. Moreover, the need for money was the main reason for Lucy to become a prostitute. Although, Lucy decided to be a prostitute without anybody’s force, she kept this job a secret from her closest person. This research finds that Lucy is an impressive feminist figure who is beautiful, intelligent, and sturdy. In spite of her job as a prostitute, Lucy breaks the society standard about how women supposed to do or act. Also, Lucy is free to express her sexual desire and makes money from it. At the end, she has found a genuine love too. Lucy is such an unstoppable woman. Keywords of this research are: women, prostitution, sexual freedom, the third wave of feminism.
