Abstract

The production of the 'Forever' music video delves into the process of an independent artist crafting a visual depiction of a song. This project gives an in-depth assessment of the entire process, beginning to end, using Lara M. Schwartz's book as a production guide. The paper's objectives are to describe the process of creating a music video from an individual artist and to help other individual artists and academics learn to produce a music video without support from the record company. The message behind the music video is as important as the visual of the music video making it a form of conceptual art where the ideas and concepts take center stage. This project faced challenges such as having to produce the music video with a small team and having a hard time managing the production time. Despite the challenges, the production demonstrates the author’s ability to produce a decent music video as an independent artist. This final effort demonstrates the potential of independent artists to create music videos.
