Abstract

This study aims to find out empirically the relationship between health literacy and the anxiety of pregnant women facing labor. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a negative relationship between health literacy and the anxiety of pregnant women facing labor. This study was conducted on 50 primigravida women of the third trimester (7-9 months). The research method used is quantitative correlational. Sampling is done by incidental sampling technique. Data collection in this study uses two scales, namely Scale Health Literacy and Anxiety. The results of data analysis with correlation techniques Product Moment obtained results for rxy = - 0.548 with p <0.01, which means that there is a significant negative relationship between health literacy and the anxiety of pregnant women facing labor. Thus the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted, namely the higher the health literacy , the lower the anxiety felt by pregnant women and vice versa.
