Abstract
Blue Is the Warmest Color is a film adapted from a graphic novel, Le Bleu Est Une Couleur Chaude, by Julie Maroh in March, 2010. This film was directed by Abdellatif Kechiche in 2013. The film Blue Is the Warmest Color is about the main character, Adèle, recognizing her true identity as a homosexual. The writer uses homosexual identity formation by Vivienne Cass as a theory in this study. The purpose of this study is to analyze the stages of homosexual identity development of Adèle based on Cass' theory. Based on this theory, the result of the study shows that Adèle experiences five stages out of six stages of the homosexual identity development, which are identity confusion, identity comparison, identity tolerance, identity acceptance, and identity pride.
