Abstract

In running a business, an entrepreneur generally experiences a condition where the business being run cannot run according to plan. An entrepreneur with a good leadership can manage and understand the risks that can occur in running a business. In the research conducted, the author observed the characteristics of an entrepreneur engaged in shoe washing services. The indicators used in this study consist of 8 characteristic variables based on the Entrepreneurial Leadership theory from Fernald et al. (2005). These variables consist of Able to motivate, achievement oriented, creative, flexible, patient, persistent, risk-taker, visionary. The method used in this study is a qualitative method from Miles and Huberman. The sample used in this study consisted of one business shop owner Clean Your Shoes and 3 store leaders from each branch of outlets located in the city of Semarang. The sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling which is a sampling technique of data sources with certain considerations. Primary data obtained is done from the results of interviews with the relevant speakers. From these data, the results obtained in the form of 7 variables in accordance with the theory of Entrepreneurial Leadership characteristics and 1 variable that is not appropriate. Inappropriate variables are Patient variables in which the owner has problems in making decisions to open a new branch of his shop without preparing observations and adequate market surveys so that the required market data is not obtained in total. In this study, the researcher presented a suggestion to the owner to conduct observations and market surveys that were more thorough and orderly so that data about the market needed to open a branch were fulfilled.
