Abstract
Objective: This research is intended to find out the effect of the card sequence of brushing teeth for autistic children. First of all, not brushing their teeth will make the autistic children more vulnerable towards mouth-related diseases such as carries, gingivitis etc and therefore it is important to teach autistic children how to brush their own teeth. Teaching autistic children may be easier through the use of media visualization which is Card Sequence. One of the learning methods is through the use of pictures that are given in a consecutive order ranging from first to last, to test the ability of autistic children in brushing their own teeth until it can be proven that the card sequence treatment can help the subject (the autistic child) learn and understand what needs to be done. Treatment: Giving Card Sequence. Method: This research uses the Quasi Experiment design, using two subjects diagnosed with autism. Apparatus: Checklist. Data Collection: Observations, interviews, SON tests and checklist. Result: The Card Sequence method has an effect on increasing the rate and accuracy of autistic children brushing their own teeth. Conclusion: The card sequence method may be used and tried on to help train autistic children with other activities and to improve and develop the use of the Card Sequence itself.
