Abstract

The developing world has an increasing impact on competition in the workforce. Education plays a significant role in shaping a person's skills and abilities to enter the workforce. An internship is a training program offered by universities where students work in companies to gain work experience and new skills. The writer had the opportunity to participate in a six-month internship program at The Bright English from August 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024. The writer worked in four divisions: academic, student advisor, marketing, and general affairs. The writer faced challenges in teaching, persuading customers, and creating unique content. The writer learned about composition, color adjustments, and element balance to improve designs. The writer also found problems faced by the company: repetitive databases and outdated publications, which could be addressed by updating databases or conducting customer satisfaction surveys. The writer gained valuable knowledge and experience while interning at The Bright English Semarang. The writer also gained new experiences, such as building communication with various divisions, making direct offers, and learning design. The writer's recommendations for the company and the Faculty of Language and Arts include Improving communication between staff and interns, establishing a division for social media management, Clarifying the rules and internship system, Increasing the number of internship programs with large companies, Encouraging the Faculty of Language and Arts to incorporate more design and content creation elements into their subjects.
