Abstract

Marketing is the process of identifying customers and "creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging" goods and services for the satisfaction and retention of those customers. Key components of marketing include market research, branding, advertising, digital and social media marketing, public relations, and sales. On this occasion, the writer had the opportunity to take part in an internship program that is provided by Family Fun Karaoke for six months, from the 1 of August to January. The position that is given to the writer are field marketing, cashier, and waitress. With the position of field marketing the writer can apply the lesson that the writer has gained in Unika Soegijapranata. The main assignment that the writer has to do is making an interesting advertisement videos and handing out flyers. By making advertisement videos and flyering the writer hoped that Family Fun Karaoke can gain more popularity and can be viewed as a healthy karaoke establishment. As a cashier the writer is tasked with counting the food and beverage that are available at the establishment. The writer also gained experience in interacting with customer and this activity has made the writer more self confidence. With the position of a waitress the writer has been tasked with delivering food to customers. The biggest lesson that the writer learned is that the working world is different from campus life. This has prompted the writer to be more adaptable to his colleagues and be more professional when working.
