Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship of emotional intelligence with social adjustment in adolescents who are members of the Black Motor community in Tegal. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and social adjustment in adolescents. The research was conducted in the Black Motor community in Tegal city. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling with the number of respondents 76 teenagers who are members of the Black Motor community and as high school students aged 16-18 years. The measurement tool used in this study is the scale of emotional intelligence and social adjustment scale made based on aspects. The technique used to test the hypothesis in this study is the product moment correlation technique. Hypothesis test results of the relationship between emotional intelligence and social adjustment in adolescents in the Black Motor Tegal Community, obtained a rxy coefficient of 0.677 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.01).
