Abstract

Consumptive behavior is an individual's desire to consume and buy goods or products that are not really needed to fulfill personal satisfaction. Conformity is a demand or pressure within a group on its members that has a strong influence and can give rise to certain behaviors. This research aims to determine the relationship between conformity and consumtive behavior among early adult K-Pop fans in Semarang City. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a positive relationship between conformity and consumtive behavior among K-Pop fans in early adulthood. The subjects of this research were 122 K-Pop fans in the early adulthood category or aged 20 - 30 years in Semarang City. Data was collected using two measuring tools, namely the consumtive behavior scale (11 items) and the conformity scale (14 items). The data analysis technique used in this research is Spearman's rho analysis technique. The results of data analysis found the correlation coefficient rho = 0.191 (p<0,05), which means there is a significant correlation between conformity and consumtive behavior among early adult K-Pop fans in Semarang City. Therefore, the hypothesis of this research is accepted.
