Abstract

It is crucial for a school to be effective. One of the ways to say that a school is effective is by seeing and analyzing the perception of its pupils towards the school. This study is done to find out students’ perception of the effective school based on the criteria of Sammons et al., (1995). The type of research used is quantitative with data collection carried out through questionnaires distributed to 70 pupils. The results of this study showed positive students’ perceptions of BPK Penabur Christian Senior High School in Cirebon. They agree that BPK Penabur Christian Senior High School in Cirebon meet the criteria of an effective school. Unfortunately, there is one statement that has negative result. The statement is teachers focused more on teaching rather than getting close to pupils which is from statement 3 with the mean of 2.46.
