Abstract

Film is a wonderful medium of art and entertainment. Rampage (2018) was chosen as the analysis medium in analyzing the self-conflict experienced by the protagonist. There are two research problems in the movie. First is how Davis experiences selfconflict throughout the film, and second is concerned with the pieces of evidence indicating Davis’s humanity. The methodology of this research is a descriptive qualitative method. In this paper the writer investigated the connection between the protagonist’ self-conflict and his humanity in this film. Qualitative research design is an analytical design conducted by spending time in the setting of the study or wherever situations of importance to the study (Patton, 2002). The result of this research is that the protagonist's humanity still exists within him and is obtained through the process of self-conflict he experienced so far. Furthermore, there are benefits of understanding how important the lessons that can be drawn from the problems humans go through.
