Abstract

Mass Media is a medium that easily distributes information massively. The information presented by the mass media often contains patriarchy and misogynism which causes one party to be discriminated against and becomes part of the subordination. The presence of this mass media then gave rise to Alternative Media, namely Magdalene.co which presents information that is more diverse and has a gender perspective that is not provided by the mass media and is more informative. Alternative Media moves to build ideology to show how the media should work by bringing out perspectives that are rarely carried by the mass media, one of which is related to a gender perspective. The methodology in this study is qualitative, with a critical discourse analysis approach using Sara Mills' approach. This research shows how Magdalene.co media has succeeded in becoming an alternative media with perspective and providing opportunities for the wider community to present and share their experiences without being represented by any party
