Abstract

This study aims to determine the imitative behavior carried out by the subject of Mr. Krabs in the animated series Spongebob Squarepants, and this study also analyzes the behavioral effects received by the subject from the mass media. The subjects of this study were students of grade 4, 5, and 6 Don Bosko Elementary School in Semarang who had experience in carrying out imitative behavior from the character of Mr. Krabs. The sample in this study amounted to 5 selected subjects who can meet the criteria of research subjects, and were taken using the purposive sample system. This study uses the theory of imitation as the blade of analysis, and the findings are that the subjects can perform imitative behavior from the character trait Mr. Krabs. The conclusion of this research is that the animated series SpongebobSquarepants, especially the character Mr. Krabs, can give influence to audiences, especially in doing imitative behavior.
