Abstract

In this era, Instagram has many users; even its users reach more than 100 million people worldwide. The benefits of Instagram, apart from connecting with friends or just sharing photos, is to promote products. When promoting products on Instagram, captions are needed, especially captions in English, to reach out to international customers. This study aims to analyze young people perceptions of English used on an Instagram caption for business. The type of research was quantitative research, and the sampling technique was purposive sampling, where the researcher specified the sample by determining specific characteristics expected by the researcher. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 93 respondents. The respondents are young people that use Instagram in daily life with the age range eleven (11) years old to twenty-four (24) years old. This study showed that young people perception of the English language in the Instagram caption for business is positive
