Abstract

This research aimed to know the relationship leadership style to employees performance with work motivation as mediation variable. There is less leadership style in Finance Ministry of Indonesia but one of Treasury Department office, KPPN Semarang 2 got achievement of the best office in Indonesia. The Leadership style which is suitable to be applied in Kantor Pelayanan Perbendaharaan Negara is Transactional leadership style because employees performance in KPPN is measured by Indikator Kinerja Utama which is determined by how much the reward is. Transactional leadership style is measured by Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire which developed by Bass and Avolio (1985). Work motivation is consist of motivational factor and hygiene factor in Herzberg theory which is will be determined using questionnaire by Luthans (1992). Meanwhile employees performance is measured using questionnaire by Jansen (2001). This research showed that there is no relationship leadership style to employees performance with work motivation as mediation variable. This is due to employees are less or equal attained goals in the Indikator Kinerja Utama because they will receive same rewards if they are more attained goals in Indikator Kinerja Utama.
