Abstract
This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the interest of high school students in Semarang in choosing accounting majors based on Theory of Reasoned Action. The data analysis technique uses validity test, reliability test, hypothesis test using Partial Least Square (PLS). Based on the results of the analysis, conclusions can be drawn as follows: The technical skills of self-efficacy and soft skills of self-efficacy accounting have a positive effect on students' personal interests in accounting. The results of this study support the research conducted by Jackling and Calero (2006) and Djatej et al. (2015). The image of accounting professionals and other relevant people's beliefs has a positive effect on students' personal interests in accounting. The results of this study support the research conducted by Gul et al. (1989), Paolillo and Estes (1982) and Djatej et al. (2015). Relevant beliefs of others have a positive effect on the intention to enter the accounting department. The results of this study support the research conducted by Paolillo and Estes (1982) and Djatej et al. (2015). Personal interest in accounting has a positive effect on the intention to enter the accounting department. The results of this study support the research conducted by Fishbein and Ajzen (1975) and Djatej et al. (2015).
