Abstract

Regarding the importance of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) in discovering the way ideology is diffused through the prevalence of various discourses, the present paper is an attempt to illustrate how the ideological and political considerations are realized through Jokowi‟s Vlog comments threads. #JKWVLOG Jamuan makan siang bersama Raja Salman’s comments threads are of place of power contest in social media. Using Fairclough‟s two of three-dimensional framework for studying discourses at three levels of micro and macro. At the micro level, the syntactic and lexical choices analysis will be used to show ideology and power contest between president‟s opponents and proponent in comments threads. At the macro level, the writer showed how Indonesian political situation affects ideology language in Jokowi‟s Vlog comments threads. Keyword: Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), Fairclough, Vlog, Jokowi,Ideology
