Abstract
CV. CV. Electra, as a family-owned company, faces two main operational problems: the ROP limit, which is set based on the owner's intuition during the restocking process, leading to inaccurate purchasing decisions, and the lengthy process of returning damaged goods due to the absence of written SOPs. Therefore, this study aims to examine the company's inventory control practices, particularly the return and restock processes, and provide solutions through the design of return and restock SOPs. The study was conducted using a qualitative case study at CV. Electra, a household electronics distributor in Semarang. The researcher found that the long return procedures, the store's distant location, and irregular delivery schedules to the city where the store is located are factors contributing to the lengthy return process. On the other hand, setting a reorder point that is not data-driven and relies solely on the owner's intuition leads to accumulation of goods and overstocking. Referring to the principles contained in classical administrative theory and bureaucratic theory, this study recommends the development of SOPs to improve efficiency, streamline the return process, and reduce dependence on the owner's intuition in inventory control.
