Abstract

Corruption is a problem that often occurs in Indonesia. Corruption in private companies in the financial sector is very serious because losses due to corruption have reached IDR 34,905,750,000,000, much higher than other sectors. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of corporate governance on anti-corruption policies in the financial sector in Indonesia. Corporate governance can be seen from the seven variables, namely the independence of the board of commissioners, competence of the audit committee, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, blockholder ownership, government ownership, and corporate governance itself. The sample of this research is the financial sector companies listed on the Stock Exchange in 2013-2018 with a total amount of data of 456 samples selected by purposive sampling method. This study uses multiple linear regression to see the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of this study indicate that the independence of the board of commissioners, the competence of the audit committee, government ownership, and corporate governance have a positive effect on anti-corruption policies. Meanwhile, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, and blockholder ownership have no effect on anti-corruption policies.
