Abstract
Waste is an activity that does not provide added value in a production process so it must be reduced or eliminated. Monica Collection is a company engaged in the manufacture of baby equipment. In the production process Monica Collection still identifies several waste. Therefore this study aims to identify the waste that occurs and provide waste minimization design to be able to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the company's production process. VALSAT is a tool used to identify waste that appears. In this study using 3 identification tools including supply chain response matrix, quality filter mapping, and PAM. Then the identification results are analyzed using a fish bone diagram to find the root of the emergence of waste. From the results of identification of waste carried out, 4 wastes were identified, namely inventory, transportation, waiting time, and defect. The design suggestion for minimizing the 4 waste among them to waste inventory is making an EOQ method on ordering raw materials. For waste waiting time the advice given is to implement a line balancing system in the production process. While it is a waste waiting time, the advice given is to rearrange the layout of production and for waste defects the advice given is addition on controlling activities in the production process.
