Abstract

Nowadays, English has become an impactful part of the society's lifestyle. In Indonesia, English is used in various kinds of activities pretty often. It covers up a lot of major fields in the current era of globalization, for instance, marketing business. In this day and age, a lot of business people try to come up with many kinds of marketing method in order to reach a big profit for their product. This study is about finding out people's perspective towards the use of English in product packaging to engage customers. This study applies mixed method research, allowing it to have both quantitative and qualitative method research in order to broaden up respondents’ perspective. The overall result from all of the obtained data points out the prestigious value of English is still considered big time by the respondents. However, it is also found in the findings that visual appearance stands out more than the use of English in product packaging.
