Abstract

Along with the development of technology in food processing especially in packaged food, it is inevitablethat the amount of food additives such as preservatives, sweetener,artificial flavours, and food colouring, are also increasing. Not all the food additives are safe for our health, although it is known that packaged foods are marketed and consumed by people of all ages. Therefore, the government is responsible to regulate the utilization of the food additives so that the community is protected from the bad impacts that may cause. This regulation is outlined in the Ministry of Health Regulation number 33 Year 2012, which specifically administer the food additives. The writer focused her research on this regulation, whether or not The Ministry of Health Regulationumber 33 Year 2012 satisfies the principle of protection, which is the right to health.
