Abstract

Teaching English for young learners is important but challenging. In this research, the writer discuss about teachers’ motivation in teaching English. There are two kinds of motivation, they are intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. The result of this research shows that teachers’ motivations are intrinsic motivation. They like children and English lesson. Furthermore, in teaching there are some strategies which help teacher in learning process such as cards, songs, games. Those activities make children attracted and remembered the lessons. In this research, the writer uses qualitative method. She collects the data by using interviews. She interviews 5 teachers in kindergarten and transcribes the data. In addition, she observes the class to know what kinds of activities take place in the
