Abstract
Different social status such as, higher, middle, and lower class always exists in every society as in Javanese society. Besides that, there is a language level that is used by different social level. There are three Javanese language levels: Basa Krama (the highest), Basa Madya (the middle), and Basa Ngoko (the lowest). This research tries to find out whether job, age, and gender influence the use of Javanese language between masters and maids. The writer took 20 Javanese couples that have Javanese maids. In order to come to an answer, the writer constructed questionnaire based on illocutionary act to get data. There were nine questions related to request, apologies, complain, and gratitude. To....
