Abstract
Transportation is the movement of people or goods from one place to another. Transportation can be carried out using motorized or non-motorized vehicles. The movement of people often causes conflicts due to the increasing need for transportation along with population growth. This study was conducted to assess and reduce conflicts occurring at intersections. The study utilizes a flyover as a means to reduce conflicts at intersections. The guidelines used for this research on intersections and flyovers are the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023. These guidelines are applied to calculate the existing conditions of the intersection and after the intersection is modified into a grade-separated intersection using a flyover. At the Bawen Three-Way Intersection, it was found that the intersection was not capable in handling conflicts due to a delay value of 10 to 20 seconds. When the intersection is converted into a grade-separated intersection, the delay can be reduced to 6 seconds in scenario 1 and 2 seconds in scenario 2. For the existing road segments, there is a decrease in the degree of saturation of the road segments due to the reduction in the number of lanes used for the flyover ramp.
