Abstract
This internship report describes the author's experience using the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) technique while working at The Bright English (TBE), an English language training center. The internship entailed a variety of responsibilities, including teaching primary school pupils, developing lesson materials, managing academic administration, marketing communications, and supporting operational functions. Through these roles, the author obtained practical experience in lesson design, customer interaction, and cross-departmental teamwork. Limited access to updated teaching materials, difficulty contacting customers, and low student responsiveness during online lessons were among the issues encountered. To address these issues, the author used Open Educational Resources (OER), strategic communication techniques, and scheduled reminders to increase engagement. These solutions honed adaptability and problem-solving skills, which are necessary for navigating real-world professional contexts. The experience emphasized the need to customize the CLT approach to varied student requirements and cultural contexts, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving communicative competence among students. By incorporating digital resources and emphasizing real language use, the author effectively assisted students' language development while also contributing to the organization's goals. This internship gave invaluable insights into the practical implementation of CLT, emphasizing the importance of innovative, student-centered teaching practices. It stressed the importance of resilience, adaptability, and teamwork in professional development.
