Abstract

Domestic Workers become a marginalized community due to the lack of recognition as workers by the government. This situation is exacerbated by the risks of human trafficking, especially for Domestic Workers employed abroad. The DraftLaw on the Protection of Domestic Workers has been in progress for almost 20years, yet there is still no clarity to date. The lack of prioritization and insufficient attention from mainstream media has hindered its approval. Konde.co emerges asan alternative media actively advocating for the enactment of the Domestic WorkersProtection Bill. There are discourses constructed by Konde.co to urge the acceleration of the bill's approval, along with an analysis of the People'sRepresentative Council's stance through Critical Discourse Analysis. Newscoverage indicates various approaches and advocacy methods employed by Konde.co. The research results indicate that Konde.co is building discourse to urgethe People's Representative Council to promptly ratify the Draft Law on theProtection of Domestic Workers. This is achieved by creating news related to domestic workers and the progress of ratifying the Draft Law on the Protection ofDomestic Workers, taking action on the streets, and advocating for the community and fellow journalists. Konde.co employs a gender and feminist approach inconstructing discourse.
