Abstract

This article presents the findings of a study undertaken by the Research Team named Intercultural Dialogue and Education: Promoting Social Conflict Reconciliation and Peace Building Initiative Methods in Law School Curricula. According to research conducted by the Research Team of Semarang City's eight law faculties, only one of them has included problems related to social dispute resolution in its curriculum. Despite the fact that Indonesia is a multicultural society, history has shown that religious, ethnic, racial, and other sectarian issues have caused many open social conflicts in Indonesia. Law faculties curricula are typically concentrated only on settling conflicts through litigation. Hence, it is crucial to incorporate mediation, reconciliation, and peace-building activities within the Law Faculty curriculum.
