Abstract

Imperfect is a film discussing the body shaming Rara's character experienced. This study was conducted to find out and describe the forms of body shaming experienced by Rara verbally in tImperfect Prakasa (2019). In this study, the writer used Sakinah (2018)'s theory regarding body shaming, body image, its effects, and how to overcome them to analyze Rara's problems. In addition, the writer also uses Wolf (2002)'s theory in her book, The Beauty Myth, which Listyani (2016) summarized regarding the representation of women's beauty and the beauty standards that are often applied by society in everyday life. The results showed that Rara receives body shaming from people closest to her, such as her mother, her mother's friends, co-workers, and people she does not know. Their body shaming affects Rara's life. She is not promoted to become a manager in her company. Rara feels inferior, has a strict diet, and wants to change her appearance
