Abstract

Communication has an important role in human life. Interpersonal communication has a significant role for creating a relationship. The method adapted in this study with a qualitative descriptive study. This study is focused on interpersonal communication in education between teacher and student at SMAN 2 Palangkaraya during online class because of pandemic covid-19. In this study, the author used purposive sampling method. The sample are 2 teachers and 4 student from SMAN 2 Palangkaraya. To collect data, the author used interviews and observation. Triangulation and observation were used to know the respondent’s patern. This study was aim to analyze the role of interpersonal communication between teachers and students in SMAN 2 Palangkaraya. Based on the results, the author draw the conclusions of the alaysis that show interpersonal communication of teachers and students has a great influence on learning during online class at SMAN 2 Palangkaraya. Even so, there are still some problems encountered such as network disruptions. Such problems will hamper the learning process. Interpersonal communications between teachers and students will able to influence both to learning transactions, active during the class, and overcoming the problem they had.
