Abstract

Abstract— Educational game refers to digital games with educational content that were made to help teaching and learning process, using interactive multimedia technology. Teachers could be one of the people who able to create the educational game software. They have knowledge to be shared and able to use the game tools for creating the educational games. However, they do not know how to exactly gain benefits or money from them. Whereas for developing a game, they need a huge effort, undergo some trial and error, and maybe some money for the game engine license. It would be unfair to expect them to not gain anything from their creation. For that matter, this paper will discuss several methods to monetize games. Those looking to monetize their games have several options, such as through purchase, subscription, upgrade, virtual currency, donation, advertisement, merchandising, and others to gain profit from their educational games.
