Abstract

Indonesia is included in a maritime country that has extensive waters. The potential of the sea is also very abundant. However, what happens in Indonesia is the level of fish consumption is still relatively low. The fish consumption in Central Java itself is still relatively low far below the national average of 50.69 kg/cap/year. Kendal regency is one of 35 regencies / cities within the Central Java Province. Kendal regency has 20 sub-districts with 961,989 people and 942,872 (98%) of whom are Moeslem. Kendal Regency itself is one of the centers of Islamic Boarding School in Central Java. There are 245 units of Islamic Boarding school which has 29.140 santris. Kendal Regency has considerable fisheries potential and is a supplier of fish in the Java region, but the level of fish consumption in Kendal residents is still relatively low. This study aims to determine the rate of fish consumption in Islamic boarding schools which are seen based on the scale of the lodge and the price of fish. The method used to determine the cottage sample is snowball sampling in 9 sample districts. The Islamic Boarding Schools surveyed were asked to recommend another Pondok (respondent) with the number of santri needed. The sample Islamic boarding schools are determined at various levels of students: <100 santri, 100-200 santri, 200-300 santri, 300-400 and> 400 santri. This boarding school will be classified into small, medium, medium and large scale huts. Fish price determination is based on a certain calculation which will separate the fish price group into 4 levels, which are cheap, medium, rather expensive and expensive based on the type of fish group. There are 4 types of fish groups, namely fresh fish, processed fish, ready-to-eat fish and fish-based seasonings and side dishes. For fish consumption figures obtained from the results of the recalling survey for 3 days with 4 times for 1 month to obtain 12 days of data. Then averaged to get daily consumption figures and continued with monthly and annual conversions. The results obtained are in small Islamic Boarding School having a fish consumption rate of 25.35 kg/cap/yr; Medium Islamic Boarding School of 30.96 kg/cap/year; Medium Islamic Boarding School of 31.98 kg / cap / yr and large Islamic Boarding School of 36.02 kg/cap/yr.However, the type of fish group and the price of fish do not affect fish consumption in Islamic boarding schools.
