Abstract

This study aimed to determine the dynamics of self-acceptance in PLWHA (People Living with HIV/AIDS) based on the Kubler-Ross theory. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data was obtained through an interview process with three subjects who had been as PLWHA for at least one year and were able to accept themselves. Based on the results of the study, to achieve self-acceptance, the three subjects showed different stages of each other, not always the same as those expressed by Kubler-Ross. US Subjects through the process of Denial - Anger - Depression - Bargaining - Self Acceptance, Subject Y can achieve direct Self Acceptance, and Subject D through the process of Anger - Depression - Self Acceptance - Anger (Situational) - Self Acceptance.
