Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris perbedaan strategi coping pada transgender. Hipotesis penelitian adalah H1 “ada perbedaan problem focused coping antara transman dan transwoman. Problem focused coping transman lebih besar daripada transwoman” dan H2 “ada perbedaan emotion focused coping antara transman dan transwoman. Emotion focused coping transwoman lebih besar daripada transman”. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 10 orang transman anggota Rumah Pelangi dan 20 orang transwoman anggota PERWARIS (Persatuan Waria Semarang). Skala yang digunakan adalah skala emotion focused coping dan skala problem focused coping. Metode analisis data yang diperoleh nilai uji U-Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian variabel emotion focused coping menunjukan nilai U = 69,00 (p > 0,05) dan hasil penelitian variabel problem focused coping menunjukan nilai U = 95,50 (p > 0,05). Dilihat dari hasil diatas dapat dikatakan tidak ada perbedaan problem focused coping transman dan transwoman dan tidak ada perbedaan pula pada emotion focused coping antara transman dan transwoman.
