Abstract
One of the rivers which is the source of raw water in Pekalongan Regency is Sungai Sengkarang. This river has a large cross-sectional capacity. Rivers that have large cross-sectional capacity usually occur in the sediment transport process. Sedimentation is one of the problems of rivers in Indonesia which causes siltation and capacity of the river, so that it can cause flooding around the river flow. This problem can be assessed by calculating sediment transport in the Sengkarang River. Research calculations using the Yang, Engelund-Hansen, and Shen and Hung Methods. The highest sediment load is on September 1, 2017 at 01.00 WIB which is 1.642 tons / hour with flowrate of 56.2 m3 / s (Shen and Hung Method) with flowrate of 56.2 m3/s. Suggestions from researchers for further research is to add or change methods and do dredging of sediments to make the results more accurate. The results of this study indicate that the total potential volume of sediment by calculating the Yang method on the Sengkarang River for 4 days ranged from 9 tons to 10 tons. The total potential volume of sediments with the calculation of the Shen and Hung Method on the Sengkarang River for 4 days amounted to 47 tons to 48 tons and the potential total volume of sediment calculated by Engelund and Hansen on the Sengkarang River for 4 days was 8 tons to 9 tons. Key Words : sedimentation, sediment transport, sediment volume
