Abstract
This study analyzes factors affecting senior high school students intentions in Semarang to major in accounting based Theory of Planned Behavior. 221). Theory Of Planned Behaviour is one conceptual framework that has been used to provide a better understanding of the factors that influence students choice of major. This theory has been used successfully in explaining intentions and behaviours in various decision-making situation. This study is a replication from Odia and Ogiedu (2013). Odia and Ogiedu (2013) discovered that personal factors and job-related factors had stronger influence on the choice of accounting by universities’ undergraduate in Nigeria. This study answers Odia and Ogiedu (2013) limitation to expand the sample. It uses senior high school students XII in Semarang which collaborate with Soegijapranata Catholic University as many as 17 senior high schools. Data analysis technique is logistic regression. The results are personal factors, reference factors and job-related factors have a positive effect to senior high school students intentions in Semarang to major in accounting.
