Abstract
Persaingan merupakan faktor yang penting dan perlu diperhatikan oleh PT. Sinar Mutiara di Tegal. Menurut data, presentase bulu menthok cacat bulan November 2004 (3,8%), Desember 2004 (4,5%), Januari 2005 (2,7%), Februari 2005 (4,2%), Maret 2005 (3,7%), April 2005 (2,5%) masih berada diatas standar toleransi yang ditetapkan oleh perusahaan yaitu sebesar 2%. Permasalahan dirumuskan sebagai berikut:“Bagaimana penerapan pengendalian kualitas dalam proses pengolahan bahan baku, yaitu bulu menthok pada perusahaan tersebut dengan menggunakan konsep perbaikan secara terus menerus (Continuous Improvement)?”.
