Furthermore, this research is also done to know the kind of elicitations used by the Faculty of Letters’ students. In this research, the writer collected the data by recording casual conversations happened in Open Access Centre (OAC). After that, the writer analyzed and broke down the IRF exchanges and elicitations. Further, the writer mapped the Initiation-Respond-Feedback (IRF) patterns and kind of elicitations usedby Faculty of letters’ students in their casual conversations in Open Access Centre (OAC). The result of this research shows that the Faculty of Letters’ students use various Initiation-Respond-Feedback (IRF) patterns in their casual conversations. They are Initiation-Respond-Feedback (IRF), Initiation-Respond-Respond (IRR), Initiation-Respond-Initiation-Respond-Initiation-Respond-Initiation-Respond (IRIRIRIR), Initiation-Respond-Feedback-Respond-Respond-Feedback (IRFRRF), Initiation-Respond-Respond-Respond-Feedback (IRRRF), and many more patterns. Furthermore, this research also shows four kinds of elicitations in casual conversations done by Faculty of Letters’ students. They are elicit inform, elicit confirm, elicit agree, and elicit clarify or repeat.
