Abstract
How the Lights Gets in tells about a self-consciousness of an Australian exchange student named Louise Connor. Leaving behind her dark past, she dreams of a new life in America with her host family. Lou's fondness for smokes and drink is just one indication that she is struggling with Repressed Teen Syndrome. To analyze what happen to Louise and to know why those problems happen, the writer uses psychological approach. Lou comes from a background of intellectual genius, bitterness and vulgar jokes.
