Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between interest in watching Korean dramas (Drakor) and positive emotions in adolescents (18-22 years) who have borderline personality tendencies. The method in this study uses quantitative methods, with data analysis using product moment. Data collection used the Positive Emotions Scale (consisting of eight items with a reliability coefficient of 0.805) and Interest in Watching Drakor Scale (consisting of seven items with a reliability coefficient of 0.871). There were 30 participants in this study, selected by purposive sampling. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between interest in watching Korean dramas and positive emotions in adolescents with borderline personality tendencies (rxy= -0.064, p=0.738). This is because there are many other factors that influence positive emotions apart from watching Drakor, namely biological factors, experience, and learning. Suggestions for participants are that they are still allowed to watch Drakor as a hobby and add other positive activities (such as maintaining health, organizing and studying) so that they can add a good experience and then can increase the positive emotions that are owned. For future researchers, they can examine positive emotions by considering other causal factors, for example support from other people that allows adolescents to learn from everyday experiences. Keywords: Borderline personality, positive emotions, interest in watching Korean dramas, teenagers
