Abstract

A Doll 's House is a story about the struggle of a woman in search for her freedom and self-subjectivity .n a male-dominated society. Nora, the main character is a portrait of a European woman in the nineteenth century. She is the wife ofTorvald Helmer ancl a mother of three children: lvar, Bob and Emmy. Like a married woman in the nineteenth century, Nora is destined to stay at home who Helmer is.a type or a man who has high pride Ftnd.-<:Hgnity.As the head of the farnily who supplies his fall ily's needs he thus feels tha he hns more power wif ~ rs;fora.
