Abstract

This research focuses on the students' and teachers' perceptions of the use of online game to enhance English learning. The writer used questionnaire to get Lite data games given to 157 I 1 grade tuderus of Kesatrian 1 Semarang Senior High School and interview done ith t ic teachers of SMt\: 4 Semarang. There were 18 1" to find out the students' p rceptions about the use of online statements in the questionnaire oulinc games in learning English. The writer found that most respondents agreed that games bring a lot of good .impact for them in learning English. They would be able to practice English more, sharpen their listenin rand skills, have more confidence if) interacting, and also learn vocabulary more. From th eachers' point of view, they speaking believe that online games can bring a good impact for th srudenrs to learn Englisf games well compared 10 learn through oks and movies. They beli ve that online wil I be used a. a learning method tn the firt ire. Overall, the results of the study indicate osiuve percept ions towards the use of online games 10 enhance English learning.
