Abstract
Banyak kasus kebakaran rumah terjadi karena kurangnya kewaspadaan pemilik rumah terhadap barang-barang yang mudah terbakar serta faktor ketidaksengajaan. Sehubungan dengan itu dalam perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi informasi terutama dalam hal pengolahan citra digital, teknologi tepat guna banyak diciptakan untuk membantu kehidupan manusia sehari-hari. Dalam hal ini maka fungsi dari webcam dapat dikembangkan menjadi suatu alat deteksi awal kebakaran dalam rumah. Pengambilan objek gambar dalam hal ini menggunakan webcam. Transfer data pada sistem deteksi kebakaran menggunakan webcam sebagai capture gambar dan PC sebagai pengolah citra dan speaker sebagai output dari PC jika mendeteksi api ( terbakar).
