Abstract
Interpersonal communication is a type of communication with the concept of personal intimacy, either directly or indirectly by two or more people. During the communication process, each individual involved builds their perception was through the senses and stimuli, the communicator creates their perspective. The perception formed cannot be separated from the influencing factors, one of which is the common interest. Currently, interest in K-pop music is attracting attention. K-pop music certainly cannot be separated from the activities of its fans. One of them is CARAT, which is a fan group for the SEVENTEEN group. To bring themselves close, CARATs scattered in various areas interact and communicate with each other through the WhatsApp group chat feature. During the communication process, perceptions are formed among individuals who are members of the group. To conduct this research, a descriptive qualitative approach is needed where the author tries to explain the perceptions of SEVENTEEN fans about interpersonal communication that occurs in the WhatsApp CARAT chat group. The results showed that CARATs who were members of chat groups formed a positive perception of CARAT interpersonal communication. It is shown by the effectiveness of interpersonal communication which makes their relationship closer like a family.
