Abstract
A psychological measurement tool should be tested for its validity before used. It also goes for adapted measurement tools. Even though a measurement tool already valid in its original language, it doesn’t automatically make the adapted one valid. Validity test still needed to conclude whether a measurement tool is valid. The purpose of this research is to test the construct validity of “Meaning in Life Questionnaire” (MLQ) that has been adapted in Indonesia. The analysis used is Exploratory Factor Analysis with total respondents 826 people from various cities in Indonesia. KMO measure of sampling coefficient is 0.850 with significance rate on 0.00. There are two factors with eigenvalues greater than 1. This means that in Indonesia-adapted MLQ there are two factors, similar compared to original MLQ. Further analysis also showed that the items corresponds to each factor also similar between Indonesia-adapted MLQ and original MLQ. This show that Indonesia-adapted MLQ can be used in Indonesia setting because it already tested for validity. Keywords: Construct validity, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Meaning in Life Questionnaire, Measurement tool
