Abstract
—Switched reluctance motor has been taking a significant role in green technology applications. This motor offers some advantages include robust construction and low cost but has lower torque compared with brushless DC motor. By using proper control strategy or geometrical modification, the SRM performance can be improved. In this paper, the relationship between stator current and inductance profile is analysed to generate better torque. By controlling the conduction angle when the motor in magnetizing and demagnetizing mode of operation, the generated torque is determined. To verify the analysis, simulation and experimental works were done.
