Abstract
Hydroponics is a way of farming using media in the form of flowing water. Hydroponic planting system provides a more controlled growth environment, and does not require extensive land, and produces high productivity compared to planting media in the form of ordinary soil. This study aims to evaluate the application of GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and GHP (Good Handling Practices) and determine the quality of lettuce according to USDA standards from the influence of GAP and GHP applied to the lettuce after harvesting. This research is carried out by conducting a survey or checking on the initial harvesting process, then handling it at the time of harvesting the lettuce, until it reaches storage. The lettuce was observed whether after post-harvest, in the control of good storage, good distribution process or not to reach the consumers, and whether it was in accordance with existing USDA standards, with proven from the checklist and testing of metal contamination. After that, the Lettuce was observed and checked the lettuce quality standards based on the USDA standard including bruising, dirt, and discoloration factors, which could also affect the quality of the lettuce in accordance with the USDA. Furthermore, the quantitative data will be processed for the follow-up process so that it can determine whether GAP and GHP that has been checked in the future can be applied at PT. Hydroponics Agrofarm or in Granari Kios or not. The results of the observation found some damage that occurred in lettuce, including bruish and dirt with a percentage of damage that exceeded the standard set. In addition, employees were also found, and visitors who were still lacking in applying the hygiene practices in the field correctly, in accordance with the existing SSOP, which refers to the checklist at the USDA. Keynotes : Lettuce, USDA, GAP, GHP
