Abstract

The level of fish consumption in Kendal Regency in households is 17.96% kg / capita / year (SUSENAS, 2017), while those outside the household have not been calculated as a whole. One of the fish providers outside the household is a boarding school. This study aims to determine the level of fish consumption in Kendal Regency by type, fish category and size of Islamic boarding school. In this study using 57 samples in 9 subdistricts. In this sample 57 samples were used to find out the types of fish based on which categories were most consumed in each size of the Islamic boarding school. In the preliminary survei in August 2018 it was found that Islamic boarding schools contributed 3% of the level of fish consumption in Kendal Regency and the mapping and selection of samples to be addressed. The results of this preliminary survei show that there are no significant differences between Small Islamic Boarding Schools and Medium and Large Islamic Boarding Schools. To find out the level of fish consumption by type and category, we use separation measures using the quartile equation. Obtained the size of Islamic boarding schools with small, medium, medium and large sizes. Kateogori fish consumed is commercial and catch itself. In the research survei, the overall consumption of fish (segra fish, processed fish, finished fish, fish-based spices and other fish-based side dishes) in large, medium, small and small Islamic boarding schools was found to be on average 25.35 kg / capita / year, 30.96 kg / capita / year, 31.98 kg / capita / year and 36.02 kg / capita / year. The highest fresh fish consumed is the most commercially consumed fresh fish by large Islamic boarding schools. In shrimp and other animals the highest is consumed by commercial sea shrimp consumed by large Islamic boarding schools (3.71 kg / capita / year). The highest processed fish consumed is commercial marine fish consumed by medium Islamic boarding schools (12.14 kg / capita / year). fish that are most consumed are commercial sea fish and consumed most by large Islamic boarding schools. The most widely consumed fishbased spices and sea are commercial marine fish and most consumed by small Islamic boarding schools. The larger the size of an Islamic boarding school, the higher the level of fish consumption, the majority of which are in the commercial category, but the catch fish turns inversely.
