Abstract
The implementation of accreditation is a mandate of Legal Act number 44 of 2009 concerning hospitals and their derivatives in the form of Minister of Health and the Decree of the Minister of Health. Hospital accreditation is a form of recognition that is mandatory every three years to improve and maintain patient quality and safety that is part of the rights of patients and families. Without a hospital accreditation graduation certificate, operational permits and cooperation with Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) cannot be achieved. Accreditation implementing agencies in Indonesia must have ISQua international accreditation, one of which is the Komite Akreditasi Rumah Sakit (KARS). In three years, KARS will conduct a preliminary survey in the first year, and in the next two years they will perform verification surveys aiming that hospitals continue to adhere to accreditation standards. The research method used is a sociological juridical approach, the specification of the study is descriptive analytic, and the data used are primary and secondary data. Data collection was carried out with reference studies and field studies at Sanglah General Hospital, Denpasar. The population in the study was a group of hospital directors, committee and research groups, and groups responsible for meeting accreditation standards. Sanglah General Hospital has conducted hospital accreditation focusing on improving patient quality and safety in accordance with the provisions in hospital accreditation standards. Sanglah Hospital is a public hospital owned by the central government and a teaching hospital that is accredited by two accreditation institutions: Joint Commission International (JCI) and KARS. Sanglah Hospital has established quality services, this can be seen from the reduction in patient complaints and faster service time. However, the implementation is not entirely optimal yet and is influenced by several factors, like juridical, social, and technical factors. Keywords: Hospital, Quality, health services, Accreditation .
